Major industrial show on Maintenance, Robotics, and Automation at the Heart of Eastern Economic Corridor

MiRA 2022 is Thailand's Leading Industrial Solution Event in the Eastern Economic Corridor on Maintenance, Industrial Robotics, and Automation. The show will be held for the first time from 24-26 August 2022 at Nongnooch Pattaya International Convention & Exhibition Center (NICE) - the heart of the EEC. The area is a major industrial center and has gathered large manufacturers together in close proximity. The show is fully supported from major organization and associations including the Thailand Board of Investment, Ministry of Industry, Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, Thai-German Institute, Electrical and Electronics Institute (EECi), Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), EEC Automation Park, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Academy (MARA), Thai Automation and Robotics Association (TARA ); the show will be packed with business opportunities.

With the industrial internet of things (IoT), and AI, machines are now equipped with smart sensors to collect data, transmit to computers and use in predictive maintenance systems. Predictive maintenance is the key in ensuring operations run smoothly, as you are able to spot upcoming failures before they happen. Machine learning for predictive maintenance can provide a detailed risk assessment of potential failure events and highlight situations with elevated risk. Combine this with a network of IoT sensor equipment and 5G connectivity will result in more reliable operations, decreases in downtime, increased savings which lets companies plan ahead.

The industries covered include Automotive, Electric & Electronic, Electric Vehicles, Pumps & Valves, Water & Wastewater, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency Packaging, Hotels & hospitality, Media Device, Subcontracting, and more!

Why EEC?

EEC Presents an Outstanding Opportunity to Grow Business!

The economic recovery of Thailand will be fueled in large part by investment in the targeted S-curve and the new S-Curve industries within the country's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) - the government's flagship project aiming to transform the Thai economy by keeping pace with technological changes, embracing future technologies, and moving towards Industry 4.0. Meanwhile, transport and digital infrastructure are being upgraded in Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong, to boost investment and foster sustainable economic growth. The latest EEC investment plan for the period 2022-2026 is now standing at a combined investment value of 2.2 trillion baht, with a focus on innovations and advanced technologies.

For many years, Thailand achieved the most installations of industrial robots in ASEAN and as the second-largest Automation & Robotic market in the region after Singapore. The advent of smart factories - the intersection of smart devices, industrial robotics, data centers, cloud services, 5G, AI, IoT, remote sensors & controllers and advanced machinery - is central to transform the industrial sector into a smart engine of development by using digital manufacturing that is driving industry 4.0 and is taking place in Thailand, especially in the EEC.

Today's rising reliance on the high-speed 5G connection, AI applications, and IOT provides manufacturing with high accuracy and minimal error. With these technologies being used in major factories across the EEC, smart solutions for predictive maintenance are also critical in order to minimize or prevent the breakdown of production equipment. An unscheduled major repair on a machine could shut down an entire production line and the consequences can be costly. Predictive analysis and data collection with machine learning and AI can reduce expensive downtime and maintenance while improving the overall effectiveness of the machines and equipment.

With these industrial developments in the EEC, MiRA 2022 will present excellent business opportunities for machinery makers to connect and do business with some key decision makers from across the EEC - An opportunity not to be missed!

Co-located SUBCON EEC

SUBCON Thailand 2022 - The EEC Edition is co-organized by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), Informa Market, and the Thai Subcontracting Promotions Association, co-located with MiRA 2022. This is an important platform for industrial part makers.

The EEC is a New Engine of Economic Growth to drive the country's competitiveness. The EEC project is envisioned as Southeast Asia's hub for the new growth industries of the future, whilst providing an environment supportive of innovation and the manufacture of new products for the future. Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) is offering investors a raft of privileges for investment in the EEC, including standard tax holidays for five to 10 years depending on investment category, corporate income tax exemption for an additional two years, and a 50% corporate tax reduction for three years for investment projects related to human resources development. The policy involved the incentives to encourage entrepreneurs to accelerate upgrading the production and machinery to "Industry 4.0" standards. Together with including a three-year corporate income tax exemption covering 100% of investment for Industry 4.0 upgrades. Eligible investors are unnecessary to use local content for at least 30% of their production.

The EEC presents an outstanding business platform for subcontractors and part makers. The BOI is taking a proactive approach to creating multiple business opportunities for subcontractors and part makers to capitalize on the growth of the EEC by organizing SUBCON Thailand 2022 - The EEC Edition. The show will provide industrial part makers with direct access to major industrial part buyers in the EEC.

"The government aims to attract investments in new targeted industries that uses advanced technology which help to drives the Thai economy. The show will present the potential of the EEC as the center of S-Curve and New S-Curve industries and provide entrepreneurs to further develop their production capabilities into a new industry."

Mr. Somchai Jakarin

Director, Thai-German Institute

"It is a good opportunity for the Thai industrial sector to keep pace with advanced technology. The institute will organize seminars to enhance entrepreneurs' knowledge on industrial maintenance solutions, automation, and robotics. The show will be a major important show that provides solutions to further development the EEC in the most efficient way."

Mr. Shinji Kogure

Managing Director of NC Network Asia Co., Ltd.

"Due to the impact of the Covid-19, the FBC ASEAN 2021 was conducted entirely in the format of an online business meeting. Matching was conducted among exhibitors and between exhibitors and visitors in advance, and high-quality business negotiations were realized, with about half of the total number of profitable business meetings. This year, in anticipation of the "With Covid-19" system taking root in many countries, the exhibition will be held in a hybrid format combining online and booth exhibits. Based on our past experience, we will aim for more effective matching both online and offline. For many years, we are supported by the Japan local government, financial institutions, and banks to collect the participants to join our event."
